Jan Stanton

Jan owns the firm and qualified as a solicitor in 1977.

Specialising in family law, Jan has a particular interest in cases concerning children and complex matrimonial finances including high net worth cases involving complicated pensions. Within her portfolio, Jan also undertakes property work for the Firm's existing client base, offers Early Neutral Evaluation, and is highly experienced in Will drafting and probate law.

Jan sits as a Deputy District Judge in the Principal Registry of the Family Division, London, and is a past president of both Kent Law Society and Medway Law Society.

As part of her commitment to best practice in the legal profession, Jan is the solicitor representative for Kent Law Society on the Kent Family Justice Board and continues to be a member of Resolution, the legal organisation which promotes the non-confrontational resolution of relationship issues.

Raveen Bains

Raveen qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and now specialises in family law and the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. Raveen is fluent in Punjabi.

In the local legal community, Raveen is Honorary Treasurer for the Gravesend and District Law Society and is a member of the Management Committee for Kent Law Society.

Melissa Markham

Melissa joined Stantons as a Senior Solicitor in September 2017.Melissa qualified in 2001 and has always specialised in Family Law.She is both Law Society and Resolution accredited as a Specialist Family Lawyer and can assist clients in all aspects arising from children matters and family breakdowns.

Melissa is also a Collaboratively Trained Lawyer and has Rights of  Audience in the Higher Courts.  

She specialises particularly in advising clients with complex high  net worth financial issues arising from Divorce, and Financial  Proceedings including those clients that have business assets,  pensions, and where there are situations of high conflict between  the parties.
